Description: LED based moving message displays are becoming popular for transmitting information to large groups of people quickly.

Compared to LED, LCD are easy to interface with a micro controller for displaying information as these have many built in functions . But cant be observed from a distance and large size LCD's are very costly.

LED based displays can be of 2 types.

1 Dot  MATRIX

2 Segmental

Generally the LED Scrolled Message generator can be implemented with many different logic's. 

Two of them are very famous..

1 LED moving message display board design using decade counters. 

2 LED moving message display board design using shift registers.

LED scrolling display can be implemented by using any micro controller like 8051.

LED scroll boards are used to generate or display advertising signs ,school signs, restaurant signs, custom street signs, simple led running text and any other information signs etc.
